How drops work

We do not sell continuously. Products are released in limited drops. Each drop opens a fixed number of delivery slots and closes once those slots are taken or once the stated closing time is reached, whichever comes first. Slot availability shown on the site is updated manually and is indicative; your slot is secured only once you receive an order confirmation by email.

Orders and contract

Your order is an offer to purchase. A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation. If a product or slot is no longer available after you have ordered, we will contact you and refund the affected amount in full.

Prices and payment

All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) and include Swiss VAT where applicable. A minimum order value applies to every drop and is shown on the website. Payment is taken at checkout by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details.

Delivery

We deliver within the city of Zürich only, to the postal codes listed at checkout. Each drop has one delivery day and a choice of time windows, both shown before you pay. Please make sure your address is correct and that someone can receive the order during your chosen window. If delivery fails because nobody is available, we may be unable to redeliver perishable goods and no refund can be given in that case.

Returns and right of withdrawal

Our products are freshly made, perishable foodstuffs. In line with standard practice for such goods, they cannot be returned or exchanged once delivered, and no right of withdrawal applies after delivery. This does not affect your statutory rights if goods are defective.

If something is wrong

If your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or not in proper condition, email hello@thecrusociety.com within 24 hours of delivery with a photograph. We will replace the item on a following drop or refund it.

Allergens

Our products contain nuts, seeds and other allergens, and are made in a kitchen where allergens are present. We cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contamination. Please read the product descriptions and contact us before ordering if you have an allergy.

Cancellation by us

In exceptional circumstances — ingredient failure, illness, or events outside our control — we may cancel a drop or an individual order. You then receive a full refund.

Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of your order, except in cases of intent, gross negligence, or personal injury, where mandatory Swiss law applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction is Zürich, Switzerland, to the extent permitted by law.

Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

The Cru Society, Zürich, Switzerland, is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. Contact: hello@thecrusociety.com.

Applicable law

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP / revDSG). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to a customer, we process their data in accordance with it as well.

What we collect

When you order: your name, delivery address, postal code, chosen delivery time slot, email address, phone number where provided, and order details. Card data is handled directly by our payment provider and is never stored by us.

When you subscribe to drop announcements: your email address only.

When you browse: standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

Why we use it

To fulfil and deliver your order, to contact you about your delivery, to meet our accounting and legal obligations, and — only with your consent — to let you know when a new drop opens.

Who we share it with

Only where necessary: Shopify (our e-commerce platform), our payment provider, and any delivery partner used for your drop. We do not sell personal data. Some providers process data outside Switzerland; where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Order data is kept for ten years to satisfy Swiss commercial bookkeeping requirements. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing, and you may withdraw marketing consent at any time by writing to hello@thecrusociety.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
